Algemene Informatie

Nord Anglia School Jakarta provides a premium education for expat and local families looking for a dynamic British international curriculum in South Jakarta. Formerly a Dutch school, we continue to serve the Dutch and Belgian community through our Dutch language and cultural programmes within and beyond the curriculum. Our natural environment is a green oasis of learning where every child is nurtured to succeed academically, socially and personally. Currently catering to students from Pre-Nursery-Year 6  (18 months to 12 years old) from more than 30 nationalities, we are a small school poised for growth and development.

NAS Jakarta offers Dutch language and culture lessons within our school curriculum for Early Years and Primary Students and also offers an after-school NTC programme for external Primary and Secondary students. The students on our Dutch language programmes come from native Dutch-speaking families but differentiation is required to work with mixed age and mixed level groups. The team consists of the Dutch Language Coordinator and 2 fully qualified Dutch teachers.  The Dutch Language Coordinator is a member of the wider academic team and works closely with the Deputy Head and Principal. Within the Dutch programme, Dutch methods and systems are adopted;Treasury, Language Active, New Dutch and News comprehension; ParnasSys and Cito. Resourcing is good within the department and school.

The Netherlands and Indonesia have a long history and you can see Dutch influence in many aspects of daily life, architecture and language. As the capital city, Jakarta has almost 10 million inhabitants and is a busy and lively place to live. There is plenty to keep you busy, interested and occassionally challenged.
